i know that this happens sometimes if the person has done something very bad but i'm not sure what.
i know the envelope remains sealed unless and until the person looks to get reinstated.. i happen to know this happened to a dfed person in the cong i just left.

Actually, its stuck with cellotape which I'd imagine might be a bit trickier. Even if I can find a way to remove the old bit, I'd have to get a new piece of the right length and width and then stick it on at just the right angle. Though chances are the elder in possession of this envelope won't remember any of those things.
If only I had x-ray vision!

My "source" (this is all very cloak-and-dagger!) tells me that the names of the committee are not written on the envelope. Wonder why that is?
Also would this happen for a straight-forward "sin" ie hetro fornication? Or would the envelope only be sealed if the person did something a bit more sinister, for want of a better word?

For all I've discovered over the past few months, for the life of me I can't figure out why they do this to people. Do they actually believe their own teachings? But don't live according to them - thus being hypocrites of the highest order. Or do they really thing think they are exempt? - thus making them delusional and maybe a little nutty. Do they really trip on the little power they attain by doing this? Its not like they live the high live of those before them (the judge etc) so I don't get it.

So at the last meeting with me with two elders, they said they had two witnesses, said that now a second sister had come forward saying I had had inappropriate contact with her as well two years ago. But I called the sister from the parking lot, we are still friends, and she said no way did she confess, there is nothing to confess.
Can't you bring this person as your own "witness", prove that you caught them in a lie but say you won't take it further if they leave you the hell alone? Then fade away without any hassle. You could quote all those scrips about liars not inheriting God's Kingdom, Jehovah hating deception and on and on til they surrender. Have it all prepared and make it go on for as long as you can manage to listen to yourself!
Turn it around on them and see what happens.
U could try reading Hassan's book and get some ideas from that.
That's my plan but its too soon for me to implement it at the moment. Will let you know if I'm sucessful.

jws are in a "religious" club with activities that includes picnics, staying in hotels(assembley) going out for leasure, excursions in the "holy land- brooklyn".
Except that if it really was a club we could see their financial records and vote in the leaders.
